Noelanders Video Series

Here’s some more photos and footage taken at the Noelanders Trophy by Hans Vleugels.

As Mrs Brown would say, ‘That’s Nice’

I suppose you have to watch Mrs Brown to get that, and to be honest, it’s out of context. When Mrs Brown says, ‘That’s Nice’, she really means ‘Feck Off!!’ In this case it really was nice to read another persons comments about this blog and for them to think enough of it to mention it on their own.

Cheers Mike K.

What’s he prattling on about I here you say, Go to MiKo Bonsai Blog to see for yourself.

And here’s a taster of Mrs Brown, one of the few Comedy Programmes that actually makes me laugh out Loud. Strong Language Warning!

4 WEEKS TO GO

Sunday Walk Inspiration

Here follows my usual offering of photos taken this morning during my Sunday walk.

To start with, some views from Scrabo Tower

Gorse in Flower

My Usual selection of Fungi, most of these growing on the gorse.

An old Hazel

Birch Bark

Nabari on the shohin tree, Stephen for scale 😉

Bluebells already!!

More Fungi and just check out the shape of the cut stump, truly amazing.

Uro

Being watched

The overgrown sandstone quarry where all the famous Scrabo Stone was quarried from. It’s now home to 100’s of Jackdaws.

A tunnel cut under what used to be the railway line used to take the stone from the quarry.

Scrabo Tower peeking over the hill.

Club Night

Last night was club night and it was great to get out and de-stress a bit and play with trees.

A great bunch of folk and getting bigger by the day.

Bonsai Journey Part 6

Here’s the last in the series Bonsai Journey. Some truly stunning Japanese Gardens and as you would expect, bonsai.

Kokufu Market Part 2

Here’s the second part of Jose’s visit to the Kokufu market. Some stunning trees to see, oh to be in Japan this week. Some absolutely stunning shohin trees on the benches.

I really don’t get the Japanese fascination with wearing face masks out in public! Surely the air isn’t that bad!! Perhaps the market was beside the local hospital over lunch hour 🙂

Bonsai Friends

Following on from my post about Phil, I have to complete the triangle. Stephen and I met back in 1995 when he appeared at a club show and signed up. We have been firm friends ever since, which is the only reason I can get away with what I’m about to post 🙂

This is Stephen back at a workshop in the 90’s. I have to admit, he hasn’t changed that much. He’s a little grey on top now and he certainly hasn’t grown.

This is Stephen sleeping off a bender at the EBA  Congress in 1999.

I always give him stick about his lack of height, this one bears me out..

He is my regular walking buddy on a Sunday.

There’s a few things that Stephen excels at, Drinking coffee…

Supervising…

Note the coffee cup in this shot..

Posing…

Marching on the spot

Stand in garden gnome

Helping out…

and friendship…

Stephen recently started his own blog,  Bonsai Baker, and he promises to post more soon. Just had a major garden revamp so he’s got plenty to share.

Yamadori and Bonsai material from Tony Tickle

I’m sure most of you have noticed that Tony Tickle has started a new blogsite titled Yamadori and Bonsai material from Tony Tickle.

I liked its layout so much, I copied his WordPress Theme 🙂 Well, me and the 50,000 other wordpressers who use it!

Every now and again I like to add a post here pointing out new blogs worth following, and today is Tony’s turn. His site has new posts pretty much daily. The are plenty of videos and some excellent information interspersed with Tony’s humour.
