No More Room at the Inn

Every Summer I look after a collection of bonsai for a friend while he going on holiday to visit family in the South of England. This year saw him downsize to a smaller car which therefore added a few extra runs to his delivery trips to my place. A few of the trees were just too big for his car and I had to pop over and collect the remaining few from him. Some of the really big ones are staying at home under the care of his son who he trusts enough to look after them.

This has resulted in my benches being full to capacity, or even to a point well past that. As you will see in the gallery below, I have crammed my benches and this is only some of them as the rest are in another area. I hope to get time to photograph some of these properly before he returns and share them here with you.

I always like to signpost people to interesting bonsai blogs and websites. I see today that Nicola “Kitora” Crivelli has linked to a few very interesting articles on this site which was new to me.

So this is the second destination i went to yesterday evening. I decided to go for a walk along the cliffs by Ballycotton, in County Cork. It took longer than i expected but made it back to the harbor for a few pictures of the sun about to set. Really nice.

Enjoy again.

Accent of the Day – Birdsfoot Trefoil

This is the one I posted a few weeks back and I was told by Ray that it might be a Birdsfoot Trefoil. No I said, I don’t think it is. Well, I think Ray was right 🙂 Just flowered yellow and the flower shape matches perfectly.

Korean Hornbeam Trim

Stephen’s Hornbeam getting a trim last weekend. This one used to be mine, kinda wish I had held onto it now 🙂 And yes, it’s going into a more appropriate pot in the Spring.

The Young Ones

My display benches have become a playground for some newly hatched birds over the last week. A young blackbird awaits it’s Mum on my pots while two young Robins fight each other for the right to sit on my trees. All very entertaining 🙂 If I could only manage to get the camera out quick enough to capture the little Wren that does a patrol of my trees each day looking for greenfly.
