Show Time

It feels like all the good shows are all happening now, and I’m missing it all 😦 I’m watching the Noelanders Trophy photos starting to drift onto the net and then I spotted this post on Tyler Sherrod’s Blog about preparation for Kokufu. I thought this photo of the truck loaded for transportation to the venue was brilliant. Click on the photo to see the trees on Tyler’s blog. Keep us posted Tyler 🙂

Wish I was There

As all the Internet Bonsai Chatter turns towards the fast approaching Noelanders Trophy, being held this weekend, I find myself disappointed that I didn’t think about going this year. You can nearly feel the excitement in the air.

At least we will have a multitude of photos being posted online to see just what we’ve missed.

Thinking seriously about 2013.

BSA 6th Annual Exhibit

As I sit here waiting for my trees to waken up in the Spring I can’t help but look forward to the forth coming British Shohin Association Exhibition. I plan to make the trip over to this in March and maybe even get a tree exhibited.

I have made many new friends through this blog and this will be an opportunity for me to actually meet a few face to face. To get in the mood I’m going to share a few photos from past Exhibitions.

This is a short View clip of the show display area.

$1,000,000 Bonsai, Don’t drop it!!!

How many people does it take to lift a $1 000 000 bonsai?

I make it 7 Japanese and Peter Warren 🙂

Taikan-ten 2011 Photos

I trawl the net everyday looking for decent bonsai related stuff. Facebook, websites, blogs, forums, etc. all get a look. When I find something of interest to me, I like to share a link to it here.

This is link to Peter Tea’s blog where he has posted some very nice, and rare, shots from Taikan Ten 2011. Photography is limited at the show and most of the photos here show trees in various areas while the staging and judging is taking place. I actually find this very interesting in itself. We never get to see how they judge these shows.

This is what a £823,500 Bonsai looks like!!

Spotted this photo over on a IBC Forum post. It’s a Japanese White Pine that sold this week at the ASPAC Bonsai Convention in Takamatsu, Japan. Priced at 100,000,000 yen, it works out at roughly £823,500.

As my son would say OMG!!
