Exhibition Gallery

I’m pretty sure I can’t be ar$ed putting all the photos from the Exhibition on here as well as the club site. So here is a link to the gallery, just click on the photo to visit.

Tight Squeeze!

Managed to transport a few trees to the Club exhibition tonight.

All ready for tomorrow.

Hoping to post live from the show tomorrow via mobile, I can only hope that the rain has run out by then!!

Club Activity

I spent last night setting up the stands for our clubs forthcoming exhibition this weekend.

Stands had to be collected from storage.

and then unloaded again at the other end.

Some who always complain about my camera time, were hard to find when the unloading was taking place. That fake call App on his phone worked a treat 😛  🙂

Building the stands, starting to take shape.

I dread to think what’s going on here

Cloth makes a big difference

Ready for the bonsai later in the week.

Shohin Display – Japan

Found these on a Japanese Blog and the blog owner has kindly let me share the best of the pics here. I have added a general link for the blog at the bottom and on my favourite blog list on my side panel  if you want to follow. I will say that Google Translate leaves a lot to be desired when dealing with Japanese but it is well worth following it to see some lovely Shohin Bonsai!

The Blog

You Tube Offerings

I may have posted the first part of this before but here are both in the one place for your viewing.

35th Anniversary Flemish Bonsai Association Part 3

The final instalment of harry’s photos, these are from the Marc Noelanders Demonstration. The big Chamaecyparis isn’t the easiest looking demo tree but what Marc gets from it it truly amazing. I remember watching Marc demonstrate back in 1999 at the EBA in Birmingham with similar material. He really  does have a knack for getting the best out of a piece of raw material.

35th Anniversary Flemish Bonsai Association Part 2

Second instalment from Harry with more trees from the exhibition.

35th Anniversary Flemish Bonsai Association Part 1

Harry’s came up with the goods again. On Saturday he attended the 35th Anniversary of the Flemish Bonsai Association held at   ‘de nationale plantentuin van Belgie’ . As part of the event Marc Noelanders demonstrated on a Chamaecyparis, but more on that in a later post.

Here are the first batch of Harry’s photos.

BSA Exhibition 2012 – Accents

Going to try and work my way through the photos I have taken over the weekend and add them here is some sort of order.

I’ll start with my favourite accents from the show.

Little Cascade Ivy Preperation

I’m bring this little Ivy over to the BSA show as well. Not much good on it’s own but it might just help fill out a display for someone else. Being an unusual variety it’ll hopefully add a little interest too.

I had to replace the old moss and tidy up a few leaves that were pointing the wrong way. The very nature of Ivy’s growth means that they a a little unkempt, but I rather like this little fellow.

As lifted out of the Winter quarters, weeds and all!

I removed all the old moss.

As rots had grown into the old moss I trimmed them and gave it a general tidy up before I applied the new moss.

Ready to go. The photo doesn’t do the little fellow justice, but they rarely do.
