Malus in Flower

My Crab Apple has been in flower this week and the scent has been amazing too. I’ve been trying to capture a bee in a snap shot visiting the blooms but they either fly off or it’s been raining. Running out of time as the flowers will soon be over.

Elm Forest Update

The Elm forest from recent posts has be growing vigorously since it was moved to it’s new home on the slab. This is it sitting in the poly tunnel a few days ago. Going to need a trim soon, need helpers to lift it out though 😦

Hawthorn Update

After a severe repotting and removal of heavy roots, my Hawthorn has really pushed hard. This is it after a trim .

Well, the Beech is now open, you’ve got to love this colour of foliage. Again early days in development but should make a nice tree.

Walk in Bluebell Wood

Well, It’s not called Bluebell Wood but it should be this week. This is my local Killynether Wood and yesterday evening after finishing a long week at work, I popped home grabbed the good lady wife and dogs and headed for the trees in the evening sun. Was well worth it.

Sharon’s Garden and Bonsai

I had the pleasure of visiting Sharon’s garden on Monday. I was chatting to her at the club meeting on Friday night and said I’d be passing near her place and she offered a coffee. Never one to turn down the chance to look at bonsai and drink coffee, I called to see her collection. When I arrives she was happily working away on a tree in her greenhouse.  It was my first time at Sharon’s and although I’ve seen many of her trees before, I didn’t realise that she had so many! When I told her I counted over 50, she was surprised herself ❗

Her garden is small and she has made great use of the space and has to be commended for the quality of her collection. There was plenty there that I’d jump at the chance to have on my own benches. She even pointed out a few that she had bought from me years ago. Needless to say they are 100 times better now! Here are some photos but!!! here’s the problem, I forgot to take my camera, so what you’ll see were taken with my phone, so apologies for the quality of the photos.
