New Toy – Sony 6000

Santa was good to me, I have acquired a new toy and have been playing a little.

I now have the Sony 6000 camera. My old Nikon D5000 had it’s limits were video was concerned and I was looking something for up coming holidays that was a little more compact. I’m no camera buff, I know what I need it to do to allow me to capture images and video for the blog, and this little fella fits the bill. I have a few add-ons to get my hands on but so far I am loving what it can do. Mirrorless cameras have really closed the gap with the DLSR range!

Barr na Binne Bui

A few shots taken at Barr na Binne Bui in County Mayo Ireland. Weather was shocking but still a great view. 200 metre tall cliffs with mist shrouded coast, a mystical place.

These folk had a better angle of the whole thing, stunning coast line.

The Burren

On Sunday Phil and I had a flying visit through the Burren, an area of outstanding natural beauty just North of where we held the workshop. 75% of Native Irish plants and animals can be found here in what accounts for only 1% of the landmass. It’s a highly protected area for obvious reasons and it was great to see even just the small part of it we did. Sorry for the photos as most were taken on the move. This is also the home of father Ted for those who followed the series. I would love to go back and spend a few days here exploring.

Autumn Colour Beech Wood

Took these shots on Sunday on a wet walk through woods near my home. I just love Beech in the Autumn.

Snaps

A few foliage , flower and fruit shots from the garden this week.

Carnlough Harbour

A few snaps I took at Carnlough Harbour on Saturday while Stephen and Vanessa were getting the fish suppers 🙂

This little fishing village is now better known as the home town of Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool FC’s Manager and of course the location of Bali Hai Nursery 🙂
