Hard to believe, but despite the rain here this month, there has still been a few days were my accent/mame gravel trays have dried out too fast. On the advice of a friend I decided to swap the grit, which was quite large, with small grain clay [tesco cat litter].
I wasn’t able to do this on my own due to the shoulder so I recruited my son Matthew to help out. He has an interest when I can eventually pull him away from the computer.

Job done, thanks Matthew.
That’s awfully nice of your son to help you out. I’ve heard of the turf ace type soil working better for those kinds of trays as well. I just got directed to your blog this week and it is great.

Hi Tom,
I had a wee look at your blog too 😉 good work on the juniper. Out of interest, who directed you to me?

I think I’ve heard of your blog awhile ago, but I think peter warrens blog gave you a shout out at one point so I got directed to it again. I think he was commenting on how you update your blog more often.

Looks good, and kudos to Matthew. He did a good job.
Another of the “must do’s” for bloggers, I’ve been told, is to respond to any comments. It helps that I’m the chatty type to begin with!

I feel obliged to reply to this now 😀 I agree it’s only polite to reply, I’ve made many friends across the world in this way.

Well, I now feel obliged to update my blog too! It’s a good thing though, hopefully I’ll start having more things to post, the juniper was a fun project.
