This is so beautiful. I really hope that I can cultivate a bonsai into something so lovely. =)

Wow that looks fantastic. How can I defoliate my cotoneaster? do they respond well to defoliation? I have a nursery shrub and I’m hoping to turn it into a bonsai at some point in the next year but the foliage is a bit large. I’d love to hear what you think?

Every variety of cotoneaster that I’ve worked with responds well to hard pruning and defoliation. I usually work with the smaller leaf varieties but the bigger one will reduce in size too. Good luck with yours.
