This time I did absolutely no lifting, other than the camera 🙂
My friend Stephen getting a door to door service with the delivery of his new Maple Raft.

This weekend I added this Root Over Rock Trident Maple to my Collection. I love working with Tridents and have always loved the root over rock ones that I’ve seen. I spotted this tree at Willowbog Bonsai a few weeks ago and Peter brought it over to NI for me on Friday. It has an interesting rock with a little pool area holding water and it looks like pretty decent ramification. Looking forward to seeing it bare in a few weeks time.

Spent a few hours with Stephen yesterday sorting out my garage to get ready for the Willowbog Bonsai School that’s being held this weekend. I wish I could have a garage full of crap like everybody else instead of this constant clearing out cycle. Had a laugh with Stephen as I kept throwing stuff up into the rafters and hiding crap under cloth covered tables. I love it really.
You can just see the wheels of the lawnmower under the cloth 😀 It’s sitting beside the kitchen sink!!

I have been wading through the internet trying to find the best and most complete set of photographs from the EBA 2011 Exhibition in Germany. After finding bits here and bits there, I should have known that Water Pall would have a fully comprehensive set of Photographs. To see all the trees, all the demos, even the trade stands, click on the image below.
I was told by Peter Warren to look out for a Potentilla in the exhibition. When I saw the cascade one I fell in love. Then, on seeing Walters Photos I saw the other one and was blown away!! A really nice cascade Juniper in there too.
Just added another blog to my favourites list.
Nichigo Bonsai is Joe’s Australian Bonsai Blog and has some great posts about Japanese Black Pine. Also nice to see recent photographs of Spring! Gives me something to look forward to as we plunge into this Winter.
As usual, click on the image below to pay Joe a visit.
I know I’m UK based but my stats for this blog tell me I have a number of viewers in Florida. Therefore I thought I’d do my little bit to publicise this theft. This was posted on the IBC Forum Some @r$ehole just walked into a show and lifted the front door display tree and walked out, bold as you like!
This is the tree/s a group of Brazilian Raintrees.
Caught on CCTV but as usual, it’s poor quality.

This is a link to a local news story about the theft that has more details and who to contact if you spot the tree. NEWS-PRESS.COM
If they catch the guy they should stick those big spines from a Brazilian Raintree under his fingernails!!
