Dan from the Enfield Bonsai Group kindly sent me some photos showing the trees exhibited at Capel Manor this weekend past. I had previously blogged the poster here to help get the word out. Happy to do this for any club event pretty much anywhere in the world as I seem to have viewers from everywhere! All photos also gratefully received.

Best of British Bonsai 2013
Looks like Best of British 2013 could be interesting next year with the event now taking place at Gardeners World Live and the associated large crowds attending.
I had 3 trees provisionally accepted but the changes now make it impossible for me to attend. The date no longer suits and the extended length of the show added a lot of extra expense to a trip from N. Ireland. Guess I’ll have to wait until the next one or maybe consider giving Noelanders a go!!
For all those lucky enough to live within driving distance, enjoy, and take plenty of photos 🙂

Peter Warren Day 4
Well, there wasn’t really a day 4, it was the day Peter flew home, but we did manage to pop down to Stephen’s House [bonsai Baker] for a look around.
Check out the colour on his Arakawa Maple. The colour had even deepened from the Friday night meeting.
Saturday’s Workshop In Photos
Only getting around to uploading the weekends Photos.
This Gallery is from the Saturday workshop with Peter Warren and shows the action as well as many of the trees before during and after. Participants were a mixture of beginners and hardcore members with a variety of trees both raw and established. If I had time I’d add some text explaining what’s going on but to be honest I’m absolutely shattered!!
I think we can safety say that the weekend was a success and Peter is most definitely worth having along for a workshop.
PW Day One

A visits to Phil’s bonsai, or are they Frankies?! 🙂
And then some snaps of the meeting. 30+ members turned up for what was a great night. Some great shots of Peter break dancing. 😆 Roll on the Workshops.

Kanagawa Union Bonsai Exhibition Individual Trees
Kanagawa Union Bonsai Exhibition – Japan
I have been admiring the shohin displays on one of the Japanese Blogs that I follow. I have been allowed to share these with you here. Taken at the Kanagawa Union Bonsai Exhibition. This is an amateur exhibition with trees from several clubs in the Kanagawa area.
Dutch Club Exhibition Photos
Harry, my Dutch friend has shared some more photos with me.
These where taken at a club exhibition yesterday. It’s a relatively new club who are exhibiting their trees in order to attract some new members.
The group was initiated and is still facilitated by Johan van Frankenhuyzen, a bonsai-enthusiast from their local garden centre. Website . I’m told that he is the driving force behind the hobby group.
Bruno Wijman is the lead in their workshops through the world of bonsai art and techniques. This is his website.
Here are a few photos from the exhibition. If I get any links for more photos, I’ll update the post.
Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs
I took a few snaps the other night during a bonsai session with friends in my garage.
As Sharon was the only female and due to the looks of a few of the attendees…
Here’s Grumpy, Dopey, Doc, ……

You can almost hear the cogs turning as Phil [Dopey] looks for options in Sharon’s lovely little Itogawa Juniper.

Another movie reference, Bertie [bashful], ‘The Quiet Man’. 🙂

See Alan [Doc], you do look like you know what you are doing 🙂

Ben [happy] working on another Sumo Bonsai, this time a pyracantha.

and also working on his Ivy

Graham [sneezy] makita’ing away at his yew.

Ian B [sleepy] getting some needle removal done

Some how Hugh [the Prince] and Michael [Grumpy] seemed to avoid the camera!
This is what bonsai is all about, a good night’s craic 😆
