As usual today saw me walking and admiring the view around my home town.
Had my usual Sunday walk with my friend Steven and the dogs this morning before the Storm hit. This afternoon brought heavy rain and a little flooding around the garden.
The walk was in Redburn Country Park in Belfast overlooking the harbour.
Sunday saw Stephen and my brother Phil join me for a hike up Cavehill overlooking Belfast. A lovely warm morning but a bit of a lung buster!
Well, It’s not called Bluebell Wood but it should be this week. This is my local Killynether Wood and yesterday evening after finishing a long week at work, I popped home grabbed the good lady wife and dogs and headed for the trees in the evening sun. Was well worth it.
Last Friday evening after a hectic week at work I took a stroll out with by Better Half. Nothing fancy just a walk along the floodgates in Ards. I usually walk in the mornings so it was nice to see a different light for photos.

Tide was out and there was plenty of wading birds about.

Everyone happy,

even the dogs

Only folk not happy were the owners of the two cars in the carpark. Windows smashed and handbags stolen! They were busy complaining about how slow the police were in getting there. The police were two miles down the lough fishing a skull out of the water and looking for the rest of the body. Nice and peaceful!! It’s as well Smudge only found a Tennis Ball! 🙂
The town where I live is 400 years old today. Well, that’s not specifically true, it was here before then but on the 25th March 1613 it received it’s Royal Charter from King James I.

Yesterday myself and Stephen took a cold walk up Scrabo Hill overlooking the town. A strange walk as half of the hill was clear of snow and the other half was covered in deepish drifts. Here are the usual photos from the walk.
Some photos from a recent walk in Belvior Forest and along the Lagan river.
Last Sunday I walked a bit of the County Down coastline with Stephen and Philip. WE could hardly call it walking in a Winter Wonderland but it was pleasant al the same. Trees, birds, water, dogs, wind! take your pick. Notice a confused gorse bush in flower!
A few snaps from yesterday’s walk in the woods with Stephen. It was a last minute decision to walk as I usually head to the cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.
Just myself and the Bonsai Baker taking in the views from Scrabo Hill on my local walk. Beech well into Autumn and a few Fungi knocking about as well. Even spotted a field with nearly 200 Swans at rest at the side of the lough. Too far for a photo but good through the binos 🙂
