Wild, Wet, Windy…

And I still braved the elements to take a few photos today!

I watched this Japanese Maple get striped by the wind over the last 24 hours. This is all that’s left.

A few of the leaves showing the range of colour. This one had green, yellow, orange, red and perhaps a little purple!

Is that Autumn Colour at Last?

This Shohin Maple is finally starting to show a little Autumn Colour. The colour last year was fantastic and I’m hoping for a repeat performance. If this wind keeps up, I’m going to loose leaves before they even get a chance to change!

A Strange Combination

I thought that this was a strange combination of colour in my flowerbed.

A Japanese Maple in Autumn reds, a Rhododendron in Flower and a Fuschia in the back covered in flowers.

Camera out Again

I was playing around with the camera again today. Getting a few better snaps of my trees. Also tried a slightly different lighting set up. It’s still a bit Mickey Mouse, but it’ll do.

Final Fuji Fotos

These will be the final photos of my Fuji Cherry for the year. When it eventually started turn it went very quickly. I experimented on it this year by defoliating it. I don’t think it made any difference with the depth of colour or how long it held the leaves. This was it on 4th October.

and this was it yesterday with a touch more red colour. Pity most of the leaves have fallen already.

Rescue maple Colour

I have been watching this Maple out of my window all week. It has been changing colour in front of my eyes.

This was it back on the 4th October.

and this was it today.

If the wind stays away, I’m in for a treat over the next few days 🙂 Taking it to my club meeting tomorrow night to add a splash of colour.

Roy’s Trees Update

I popped into Roy’s house on Tuesday to lift a tree and scrounge a cup of tea. As usual I took a few snaps. His trees are starting to show great Autumn colour. I was interested to see how they had grown after the major haircut some of the got back in May SEE HERE
