Alpine Accents

Spotted some Alpines reduced in price from £1.99 to £0.50 at a local garden Centre. Decided they were worth a punt and pick up four that I wanted to try as Accents next year.

I have a soft spot for Armeria and I didn’t have either of these varieties.

Now swapped over to usable pots for display next year.

Kanagawa Union Bonsai Exhibition Individual Trees

For those looking for a closer look at some of the trees and accents in yesterday’s post about the Kanagawa Exhibition, here you go 🙂

Rossi is Red

Accent Autumn Colour, now officially my favourite accent.

SFH Accent #2

This pot was a little more challenging as far as picking a suitable plant. I didn’t have much to choose from. I added two plants, and and happy with this as a starting point. As the plants mature I think it will come together well next year

SFH Accent #1

I mentioned last week that I had acquired a few new accent pots from Susanfrancescahunter. I have finally got around to transferring a few bits and bobs into them to see what they are like. Here is the first one. I planted a fern into the pot with a little moss and lichen under planting. Pleased with the result.

Rossii?

I swapped a few accents with Xavier back in the Spring and one of them was this chap. I can’t seem to actually find out more about it. It was labelled Mukdenia Rossi. I was expecting the Rossi to refer to red flowers at some point, but as you can see, there appears to be a red tinge to the leaves starting as we come into Autumn. I have since read that it’s now to be called Aceriphyllum rossii. Anybody know any more about it as an accent?

Dwarf Astilbe

I just love this tiny flower on my dwarf astilbe. I have always loved the big ones but I feel a few more joining the collection next year.

One Flower Will Have To Do

Looks like it could only manage one flower in this little pot.
