How often do you do this? And what sort of things are covered? I ask because I’m on the education committee for my own club.

Hi Steve, Sorry about the delay in getting back, just about able to draw breath after the weekend!
I might do a separate post at some point to expand on this question. Our club is rather isolated being the only real club in Ireland. We have no dealers here either compared to the likes of Willowbog Bonsai over in England. We hit on the idea of killing two birds with one stone. Getting supplies and getting tuition. We do this 3 times a year, Spring Summer and Autumn at a time that suits everyone. The school fees are low to ensure numbers and they cover the travel expenses for Peter. That is the Saturday which is followed up by a Sunday workshop. Peter based the concept on his previous long running school set up at his nursery with Marco Invernizzi. We cover two topics at each school, everything from wiring, branch structure on deciduous bonsai, Conifers, repotting, etc. As are club meeting are always workshop based, this school set up is a bit of a novelty for members and allows for greater questioning and for more experienced members to add there local input as well. You can read a little more about it on the club site : http://www.nibonsai.co.uk/nibs-bonsai-school/
