Ben brought along his berberis on Friday night for advice and a trimming. Personally I think he would rather it was me getting spiked to death with all those spines!!
This is a cracker little clump that we had worked on back in the Spring. He has already had to remove the wire and we added a few more to pull a few new shoots into place. It’s a year or so off coming into shape but with the great care it’s getting, I expect this to be a cracker little tree in years to come.

and after…

Hi Ian could u remind Ben if u ar speaking to him to bring that juniper to the next meeting so we can work on it

Haven’t heard him mention it for a while, but I’ll ask.

Evening boys! Would it be worth looking for a pot for this in the autumn Ian?
Hey Jamie. I still have that juniper but its a beast so i’ll be bringing it along to a garage night probably so that it can be re-potted into something lighter. I’m not looking forward to shifting it becuase its in one of my massive pots in 100% grit……its all i had when i got it home. I’ll put a pic of it up on my facebook at some point so you can see what it looks like.

I’m sure Peter would be delighted if you bought a pot for this in October 😀 How long has it been in that one?

It will have been in this pot for 3 years this spring coming. I reckon it will be ok to re-pot. It would be good to get it into a better growing mix too. I’ll save up for a pot.

It’ll be fine for repotting, you’ll have to ask the bride if it’s ok to buy a pot though 😀
