Is the black area colored or is it a real hollow shade?

Sorry for the delay in getting back!
The inside of the hollow has been darked using something like Charcoal or burn’t Umber paint to give it this look. It’s personal taste as to just how dark you make it, or even to do it at all. It adds depth to the hollow area. I quite like this one 🙂

Some very fine trees! I especially like the character of the upright yew, and of the pine by the non-plussed owl.
