Would you believe that the Faroes have an Under 21 squad!! We beat them 4-0 as well. It’s not often we play against a Country that is smaller than us, so we have to make the most of it. It’s the first time I have watched them score 4 against anyone, so yes I’m happy. I did watch them score 3 in their win against Spain and a very special one to beat England 🙂
The best bit about the game was Paddy McCourt scoring 2 and having his name chanted from the Kop. With all these so called Norn Iron players jumping ship to the Republic after playing for the Under 21’s, It was refreshing to see a Celtic player being hero worshipped by a supposedly sectarian crowd. Even sweeter, the Sinn Fein sports minister was watching from the box. She only took her seat after the National Anthem though! Politics!!
