Mini Hostas

Stan called over to my place the other day. He had just received some mini hostas via mail order from Bali Hai [local and Internationally renowned Hosta specialist] and wanted to get them potted up. We wanted to see if any could be split in the process. He brought with him some recently purchased Erin Pottery accent pots as well.

Some great little ones, varieties such as;

Hydon Sunset, Blue Mouse Ears, Dixie Chick, Baby Bunting, Limey Lisa, and my favourite Venusta

I also potted up some ferns liberated from a grave Yard wall. Amazing what you can collect for free 🙂

Plant ID?

I was given this by my friend Robert. I haven’t a clue what it is. Any ideas? I’m told it dies after flowering and you have to collect the seed to propagate for next year.

Rhodohypoxis in Pink

Always worth having in your accent collection. I really must gather up some more varieties of these.

Gravel Tray

Even with my accents sitting in grit/gravel there have been a few days when I have struggled to keep them watered!

It hasn’t stopped my wild strawberry from shooting runners!

More Hostas

I have a few more hostas that I’m growing on this year with a view to splitting them in the Spring. These were given to me by my friend Stephen.

Iced Lemon

Hostas Nearly There

A few of my hostas are teasing me with flower heads!

Cracker Crumbs

Big Girl’s Blouse

Call me that if you like but aren’t Pink flowers pretty 😉

Rose Tinted Glasses

I posted this first one on Facebook recently. I really must be in touch with my feminine side this weather!! More pink flowers.

These are from Chie’s Blog in Japan. Doesn’t need to be a macho Conifer for me.

Loved this one too.

and this accent

Just to even out the post with a conifer 🙂

My Accents from the Exhibition

I was rather pleased with a few of the accents I used at the exhibition at the weekend.

A collection of plants along with some mud rock.

Bog Plant Accent

Stephen gave me this little carnivorous Bog Plant as an accent back at the start of Spring. You have to keep it very wet, but it was worth it 🙂
