Tullymore

Just had to share this photograph with you. It was taken in Tullymore Forest Park in County Down N. Ireland by Hugh Wilkinson, one of our club members. He’s been playing around with his new camera and I was blown away when I seen this. It’s now my desktop image!!

“Gangnam Style”

When I first saw this video I thought I was going to see a new style of Chinese Bonsai, you know, like Lingnam etc.

Boy was I wrong ❗ Have a great weekend.

Enjoy 🙂

1000 Posts

Another Milestone for the blog.

Thank you to all who have encouraged me in keeping up the flow of posts. I have become a little OCD about daily posts 😆 but I hope most of them have been worth reading, or in most cases, viewing the photos.  The blog has grown from the initial plans I had from it. I’m very far from being anything even close to the quality of some of the artists out there. I even say the word artist expecting ridicule. Therefore to have this blog receive on average 500 hits+ a day from over 150 countries is mind blowing.

I’m aware that many check in for links to other exhibitions and videos and that’s fine by me. In fact, if you have a video you want to share, a show you want to promote, or have photos from a show anywhere in the world that you want to share, I am happy to help spread the bonsai love 🙂

Thank You!

Olay! Olay! Olay! Olay!!

Congratulations to the European Ryder Cup Team, this year’s worthy winners. Especially to Rory McIlroy our wee man from Northern Ireland 🙂

Spirit of Seve 🙂

Happy Arthur’s Day!

Giant’s Causeway Visitors Centre

I have been to the Giant’s Causeway numerous times in recent years. However since my last visit they have opened the new visitors centre. We decided to have a look as we where in the area. We didn’t bother actually going down to the causeway as the weather wasn’t great.

The new centre is built into the hillside to lower it’s impact on the environment.

This shows you just how sharp an angle the rain was driving in.

The centre is very interactive looking at the history, myths, and wildlife from the area.

Even the carpark looks like the causeway 🙂

The view looking down towards the causeway. This was out limit as time ran out.

Portstewart Strand

On my little trip out last Tuesday I took a few photos of local attractions. I’ll add them here as I get the time.

These were taken at Portstewart Stand on the North Coast. The good lady featured is my wife. This is one of our favourite places to take a walk.

The doughnuts on the beach weren’t mine. Allie wouldn’t let me  🙂

Spotted this chap spraying in the dunes. National Trust work hard to maintain this habitat. I wondered why some of the bushes were blue!

Fishing for sea trout.

Musenden Temple peeping between the hills.

Shags on the pier.

Emerging from the dunes onto the beach

Geese in flight

Stormy waves

Man Friday?

Wind blowing the sand along the beach.

And then it rained and I got soaked 😦

You’ll Never Walk Alone

As a Liverpool supporter this has been an emotional week with the release of the Hillsborough Papers.

As the LFC Anthem ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ hits the top of the itunes chart today, 28 years after it’s original release, I feel nothing but pride for the Club. All that’s left now is for some proper justice!

Walk on…

Please let me Back in the House

TEAM GB!!

What about Team GB!!

14 Gold Medals to date, 6 today, 3 tonight in athletics alone. 3rd in the Medal Table behind two of the biggest countries in the world.

The rowing team had 3 medal winners from Coleraine in Northern Ireland, that’s more medals for Coleraine than for Sweeden so far!!

To top it off we have Jessica Ennis, Gold Medal winner in the Heptathlon and best looking athlete  in the games.

As you can guess, I have done little else this week other than watch the telly 🙂
