Ray over on Ronin Bonsai is asking for help in locating some old friends he’s lost touch with. As I seem to have a lot of American followers, according to my stats, I thought I’d help him out. Setting bonsai aside, I do like getting long to the Rose Show in Belfast each year. The rose gardens are amazing and it’s a really nice family atmosphere. I didn’t get to take many photos this year as I was late getting there to collect my trees from the exhibition. Here are a few of what I did manage to take.
Was lucky enough to have this fabulous Rose named after her. This is from my garden and this is my wife’s favourite. God help any kid who hits it with a football! 🙂

This was followed by a few sympathetic comments from friends, then his wife Emma struck, 9th comment down 🙂
This was closely followed by a few other bonsai folk who in true banter gave it to him.
I don’t like to laugh at other peoples misfortune, but Emma, well done, I near spat my tea out when I read that one 🙂

Alot of trees seem to be having a good year as far as flowers go. I have seen a lot more flowers on pines, Scots, Mugo and Japanese White.
This ones a Mugo at Stephen’s house the other day. Anybody else seeing more of this this year?
This Common Juniper also at Stephen’s only had to be touched to raise a cloud of pollen.
Congratulations to Phil and Suse for what was a fantastic day out for all the guests sharing in their big day. Sun was shining, drink was flowing and the craic was mighty 🙂

Well done Mark the Best Man, I think we worked well as a team on the day in keeping Phil right 😉 As a kind gesture, at the end of the day we swapped a cuff link, a nice moment.
And a big thanks to Suse and Phil making me walk into the top table to the the song, ‘Here Come The Girls’!! 😛
On our way back to County Down, we stopped at Carnlough to visit Bali Hai, a Hosta Specialist Nursery. Just one phone photo from here but more on what I got at a later date.
