Managed to transport a few trees to the Club exhibition tonight.

All ready for tomorrow.

Hoping to post live from the show tomorrow via mobile, I can only hope that the rain has run out by then!!

I spent last night setting up the stands for our clubs forthcoming exhibition this weekend.
Stands had to be collected from storage.

and then unloaded again at the other end.

Some who always complain about my camera time, were hard to find when the unloading was taking place. That fake call App on his phone worked a treat 😛 🙂

Building the stands, starting to take shape.

I dread to think what’s going on here

Cloth makes a big difference

Ready for the bonsai later in the week.

Don’t know just what went wrong here, cling film on before moss perhaps?!

Health & Safety :
Do not try this at home, this comedic moment was carried out under close supervision with a team of experts close at hand!
A few fellow bonsai folk in my garage the other night. See if you can spot Phil ‘Two Fingers’ Donnelly. 🙂

We had a bit of a photo session the other week. Hugh can down to my garage with a better camera and some lighting. The plan was to photograph some trees with a view to submitting them for selection in the Best of British Exhibition next year. You never know a few might be selected but we had good fun anyway taking the shots.

These are some of the trees we shot. Some mine, some Josh’s, some Phil’s and some Stephen’s. Bar the shohin, all show front and back.
For some folk, going to the Bonsai School at the weekend was literally like going back to school!!
Phil misbehaving at the back of the class, giving Jamie, the teachers pet, a hard time 😉

Naughty boy 🙂

Some Action shots capturing the goings on at the weekend. Some from the NIBS Bonsai School and some from the Willowbog Bonsai Workshop.

Bringing it to you live from the club bonsai school .
After some deliberation I have decided to miss out on the Noelanders Trophy next year. Just working out the cost and travel issues getting there from N Ireland was giving me a headache.
I have therefore opted to sign up for a workshop with Ryan Neil at Willowbog Bonsai instead 🙂 That gives me 10 months to try and find something decent to work on!!! I feel rather excited at the prospect already.
The final instalment of harry’s photos, these are from the Marc Noelanders Demonstration. The big Chamaecyparis isn’t the easiest looking demo tree but what Marc gets from it it truly amazing. I remember watching Marc demonstrate back in 1999 at the EBA in Birmingham with similar material. He really does have a knack for getting the best out of a piece of raw material.
