Bonsai Blogger

I start things and after a while I forget. One of these has been my posting of good bonsai blogs that catch my eye.

After reading a post this morning from Salva in Malaga I felt the need to start this again. Click on the banner image below to visit a post from him regarding work on a Juniper. Blog now added to my ever growing favourites list on the sidebar. Obviously in Spanish, Google Translate to the rescue.

Congratulations Spain

Congratulations to Spain for winning Euro 2012. You had me worried that your play were getting a bit boring, all passing, no attacks on goal, but you pulled a great final out of the bag. Pity it was 10 against 11 for a good part of the match. I felt sorry for Italy to lose under such circumstances.

As a Liverpool supporter I have a soft spot for many of the Spanish players, and as a Northern Ireland fan I also have a fond memory of watching us beat Spain at Windsor Park 3-2 🙂

Here are a few good Spanish Bonsai Blogs to check out. Enjoy.

The Dye Is Cast

Well, England are out of Euro 2012. Those who know me, will know how I feel about that 😉

The semi Finals lie ahead. As the 4 teams remaining are easy to match up with Bonsai Blogs, I thought I would revisit the head to head blogs.

New Link

I really should remember that many people visiting this blog are not English speakers! By titling a recent post as ‘Big Girl’s Blouse‘, I may well be confusing the issue. Some head scratching going on I’m sure.

What made me consider this is the recent influx of Japanese hits on the blog thanks to a recent connection with Chie , a trainee at Yamato Nursery in Japan and her blog.

Through this I now introduce you to Nekotoban’s Blog. She kindly contacted me after finding me on Chie’s blog. She has recently started her own blog in English. I hope to follow her travels around some of the nurseries in Japan and I think our love of mame and shohin is mutual. Click HERE to visit the new blog. I have also added her to my friends list in the side bar.

Blog Post of the Day

Just about as comprehensive a post on defoliating Trident maples as you’ll find. Thanks Peter.

Blog Post of the Day

I felt compelled to make this the post of the day as I just had to share a photo of Peter Warren with a beard 🙂 I guess it grew out on his road trip!

I look forward to seeing more photos and perhaps video from this exhibition.

Shohin Display – Japan

Found these on a Japanese Blog and the blog owner has kindly let me share the best of the pics here. I have added a general link for the blog at the bottom and on my favourite blog list on my side panel  if you want to follow. I will say that Google Translate leaves a lot to be desired when dealing with Japanese but it is well worth following it to see some lovely Shohin Bonsai!

Euro 2012 has started with loads of great matches to watch. As my Northern Ireland didn’t qualify as usual I can enjoy as a neutral. As I’m off work today I will be watching Holland v Denmark later followed by Germany v Portugal.

I thought it would be fun to put some of my favourite bonsai blogs head to head here as well. Just click on the flags to visit my chosen contenders 🙂
