Trident in December

This is my Trident pictured during the week. As you can see, it has been reluctant to drop its leaves. The few that are missing is more down to gale force winds than Autumn/Winter. This tree has been outside since March.

I usually defoliate this tree every year but next year I’m planning on a different technique to compare results. I’ll keep you posted.

Chuhin Maple Winter Image

It took a while but my little Chuhin Japanese Maple is now finally without leaves. Here it is before being tucked away for the Winter under cover. I’ll maybe do a a series of pics showing it throughout 2011 over the weekend.

Naked Japanese Maple Raft

Stephen’s new Japanese Maple Raft. We eventually got to see it sans leaf on Sunday. I plucked off the last 4 leaves 🙂

A lot of clearing out required but I was happy to see some decent ramification with close inter-nodal length in there. Bodes well for the future with the right care.

Maple Final Colour

This is probably the final bit of colour from this Japanese Maple before leaf drop. It never fails to please, colour has been fantastic this year.

Tree for Club Night

I always try and take a tree along to club night showing something seasonal. Tonight I’m taking along this Maple as it starting to colour up nicely 🙂 As you can see it’s wet, hasn’t stopping raining for hours here. Hope this doesn’t put people off attending the meeting tonight 😦

Chuhin Maple, Colour at Last

I was starting to think that this maple had forgotten about Autumn this year but a little colour has started to creep in. Another week should see it at it’s peak colour.
